Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is most often caused by a frightening or intimidating incident of some kind which can then leave the sufferer with recurring unpleasant 'flashbacks'. 

Traumas might range from car, plane, or train accidents to physical assaults, muggings or sex attacks, military combat, or natural disasters.

And more recent studies show that it's not necessarily only the victims of trauma who suffer from PTSD. Often people also suffer PTSD after being witness to a trauma in which they themselves were not physically involved.

Sufferers of PTSD commonly experience persistent flashbacks and/or nightmares. They might also have difficulty sleeping or concentrating and can feel isolated.

Other symptoms can include irritability, feeling detached from reality, loss of interest in enjoyable activities and irrational fears of further traumas.        

Hypnotherapy - effective treatment for PTSD

Hypnotherapy, using specially formulated trauma de-sensitising procedures such as the widely acclaimed and successful 'rewind technique' coupled with deep relaxation has proved to be an extremely successful means of overcoming PTSD.

The three main advantages of this method are -

Firstly - clients are able to get highly successful results without having to 're-live' the experience or go over and over every distressing detail.

Secondly - this method is much quicker to resolve issues than most other forms of treatment

Thirdly - it is a completely safe method
